Passion Piece

It’s strange for an 8th grader to know exactly what he or she wants to be when they grow up. I’m one of the few that know; I want to be a heavy equipment operator.

One of the reasons I have always wanted to become one is because I love operating big machines. When I was little, I played with my tractors on the floor. Or I had a sandbox and I had tractors out there too. Or out in my front yard when it snowed, I t outside and plowed the snow with my little tractors and bulldozers.

My dad works with big machines and I love going to work with him. I go as much as I can. Normally every Saturday when he works, I take the advantage of going. When I go to my great uncle’s house, he is rich and has a lot of machines, so he has projects for me to do.
The reason is because I have been dreaming since I was a kid to be a farmer or something close to that and that includes big machines. Everybody always made fun of me because I was making tractor noises with my mouth and it did get annoying. Or when I was in class, I would always start just randomly make tractor noises.

One year for Halloween I dressed up as a farmer and did it the for next year. Everybody knew who I was and what I wanted to be. Another year I wanted to put things on my lawnmower to make it look like a big tractor and haul my brother around. My dad told me that I should be a heavy equipment operator when I am older because of how observant I am and how street smart I am.
Being a heavy equipment operator is a career and is the career for me.
